| SETTING UP A LIMITED COMPANY TO BE MADE EASIER |
November 25th, 2006 |
The cost of setting up a Limited Company and the work involved in the
setting up process are both set to be reduced by a decree passed last
week to allow the setting up of a Limited Company on the Internet.
Until now the process has involved up to eight visits to various
offices and the filling out of up to fifteen forms. This will be
reduced to two visits and one form! The process has up until now taken
up to 47 days and it should now be possible in three. This should be
possible from January 2007.
A network of 150 centres known as start and advice points will be
processing centres for this new set up and the new process will only
require a visit to a 'PAIT' (Punto de Asesoramiento e Inicio de
Tramitación) office and a visit to a Notary and the set up can be
complete. The cost will be reduced by 1,000 euros and a new electronic
document will replace the 15 old forms.
The new system has been worked out between the Ministry of Justice and
the Department of Industry Tourism and Commerce, and the new system
will also be of assistance to current businesses requiring a change to
their status.
It would be helpful in many ways if other cumbersome aspects of
bureacracy in Spain were to be simplified, which would probably be
beneficial not only to business but to the economy as a whole.
