The Presldent of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárce|, and President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Alberto Farbra, met at the Palaclo de San Esteban de Murcla, have met to address issues of interest to both communities.
One of the first items raised with other leaders was strategies regarding the Mediterranean Corridor route from France to Algeciras, initially described as a priority project of Trans-European Network.
The Government of the Reglon of Murcla strongly supported the Axis Rail Mediterranean on its way through Spanish territory, including passage through the regions of Andalucia, Murcia, Valencia and Catalonia.
The development of the Mediterranean Axis Rail in its entirety is the only chance for Spain to become a major intercontinental logistics platform, due to the growing importance of trade with Asia and North Africa.
Furthermore, it is a strategic corridor for the European Union, to unite northern and central Europe to North Africa by the shortest and most economic activity and freight.
Therefore, the regional government will maintain, together with the Government of Valencia, its full support to the inclusion of Axis Rail Mediterranean in its entirety.
